Armagh County Museum - 8pm
Admission: £3

In 2003, Barnaby Brown moved from Scotland to Sardinia in order to immerse himself in the launeddas tradition. Working with Luigi Lai's instrument maker, inspired by the 9th-century carvings at Clonmacnois and Monasterboice, guided by the early Highland pibroch manuscripts, he has developed a family of triplepipes appropriate for Irish music. In this lecture-recital, he explains his approach to composition for the pipes that pre-date bagpipes.

Tickets £3 (includes light refreshments) available from Armagh County Museum (028 37523070) & Armagh Pipers Club.
